I really don't want to turn this into a big subwoofer comparison. Last year was tough. It get old after too long. (well, maybe not for you "oh master of the subwoofer")

i actually find the opposite true speakers are just very boring for me.

Bah, that's just the cover story. I think after those two HOs came home Mrs. Majorloser made some threats about what would happen if any more glass in the house broke

Spent the weekend trying to do some preliminary reviews before July. Started this weekend with just a 2-channel setup of the Emotiva ERM-1 bookshelf speakers. So I thought I make it a big "combo" review and play with a few new items. So I used a new Yamaha RX-V863 receiver as the power. I also decided to play with a Cables-To-Go "USB 5.1 Audio Adapter" to give me something to listen to while typing up the reviews. For my primary source I used a OPPO DV-981HD combo player. Here's a couple early pictures:
