I've been listening to The Cat Empire. I have a friend who wanted to convert me and sent a bunch of mp3s. I need to get their CDs now.

I was driving to an appointment this morning and I heard Ray Anderson's "Don't Mow The Lawn," well I was lucky enough to find it at deepdiscount.com, so I bought it on the spot, I should have it soon, though it's backordered.

If anybody's familiar with Ray Anderson Alligatory Band chime in. What I heard sounded great.

Hey Strat, I've heard him before.
He's plays trombone. Blues, funk, with a little Dixieland-ish thing
going on.
'Hemlines'; from Blues Bred In The Bone, album is good also.

I just bought the new Kinks 2CD+DVD boxed set. Oustanding sound (though they messed up the labels!)

Is it a re-mastering of their old stuff?

The Kinks are a band that just didn't get the credit it deserved IMO. They tackled alot of issues in their music with alot of humour and wit. One of the better bands coing out of UK in that era.

Yes. It is their two greatest-hits albums remastered. Surprising sound, given the vintage. (The DVD is live. I haven't watched it yet.)

I've been Binging "The Blood Brothers" lately, mainly due to the fact that they recently broke up (october to be exact). I found out a couple weeks ago and I'm forcing myself to make them regular, before I forget about them.

I think I can safely say that I've never heard a band even remotely similar to these guys, and I don't think I will ever again.

RIP

1 rule. No commenting unless you finished both the videos. I don't want to hear "Those guys suck" if you didn't actually sit through it.
