Help

So my options for burning the file in Nero 6 Ultra are:

Data disc
Audio CD
Video Cd
Copy Disc

So I use the audio CD option and select the ISO file to burn? First try the burning process failed. Any ideas?

No, don't use Audio CD.

While in the Nero Program, click Recorder -> Burn Image.

Then just choose the ISO file.

Player is updated and working fine. I'll order Heroes disc 1 again for the weekend to see if it now plays.

Cool, you got it updated.
Now that was easy, and it did not take 2 months waiting for Toshiba disc.

I am sure if anyone else is having this problem, jonnythan or myself would be glad to do a pictorial of how to do this.
Well, I can't say for certain jonnythan is up to it. But I'm always happy to upload images.;)

I rented this disc again. The first time it loaded it got stuck at the exact same spot as the others. The second time it worked. Not sure what's going on here and this is the only disc I've had a problem with. Anybody else had a problem with this disc???

Forgot to ask..
Duff, what firmware did you update to? I know this was being asked right in between a newer firmware version. (2.5 from 2.2)
So did you end up with 2.5 or 2.2?

On the A2, I did not notice any quality or speed difference from either. (my XA1 uses 2.3 ATM)

But so you know, HD DVD (as well BD) is an evolving format, and each NEW disc made may require a firmware update to be played on your NEW player.

There should have been a paper in the player's box that notified you of this.
Considering each NEW disc may have new web features, they will be updating firmware on a consistent basis.

I am pretty sure I have even got the paper in a few of my discs (HD & BD), that says the same thing (that a firmware may need to be updated for the disc)

However, since you say you will be renting more than buying, you may not get notified quick enough.
As new updates come around, I would be glad to keep you informed.;)

Couldn't handle it Duff.
The buy button is very hard for me to stay away from.
So I just purchased season 1 on HD DVD.
(woot) picked up at Half.com for 57.00 and they just issued a long waited refund for 17.90
So, it feels as though I picked up Heroes for 39.00:D

(off topic) Also pre-ordered Harry Potter 1-5 HD DVD Limited Edition Gift Set.
And can hardle control myself, on the wait for Blade Runner 5 disc set.

Back on topic, once the set comes, I will let you know how the rest of the discs play.
(on both the A2 and XA1)

Great, I look forward to hearing your comments on how good it looks. It looks good to my eye for HD video. :D I'm quickly getting to the point where I don't want to watch SD DVD anymore.

Well no problems at all with disc 1 on the A2 or the XA1.
Disc 2 no problems at all on the XA1.
Disc 3 stuttering problems on the XA1 (will check same area on the A2), that's all the discs I have viewed in entirely, at this point.

The only other disc I have had a problem with (on the XA1), is Blades of Glory.

Currently, I have never had a stutter, lockup, etc. on the A2.

My Warner shipment FINALLY was shipped. (will be here today)
So I will have a bunch more crud to watch and test.;)

Thanks for the update. The first disc is the only issue I've had with the player. After the software update it had the same problem once and has worked fine on that disc since.

I've already sold mine on eBay and netted about $14 each for the four I sold. That brings the cost of my player down to $143. Not as low as I had hoped but I did keep Lara Croft Tomb Raider.

Next up? A BD DVD player if the price drops significantly when Sony blows out the current models. :D

Hey Duff,

A question on Netflix shipping.
I'm thinking of joining Netflix 'again' (this would be my third time joining)
Currently, I'm only on Blockbusters online account.
From Blockbuster (store), I have rented a few BDs but have NEVER received a single HD disc from them (from on-line), out of all the ones I keep on my request list.
And I'm wondering how fast Netflix ships you the HD DVDs to you?
I know their shipping is faster than Blockbuster (well, at least it was when I had my last accounts).
But that shipping was for DVDs.

Also how good is their selection of HD? (both formats, I'm talking about)

Oh and not that you are needing any more updates on the Heroes discs, but disc 4 plays fine as well. ;)

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner but I just got back from a week long vacation. Netflix has both HD and BD discs. You set your preference for either or both and they ship automatically just like a regular disc. I typically have mine turned around in two days since there's a DC within a few miles of my home. I mail on Monday and have the new disc on Wednesday. It's about as seemless as can be. They have most HD and BD titles. I have Transformers at the top of my queue and hope to have it on Wednesday. :D

Cool, it looks as though I will be joining Netflix again.

LOL, with luck my Transformers will be here on the 16th from Amazon.
Heck, I was one of the first people to pre-order it.

Oh and the rest of Heroes worked flawless.
I would not bother renting disc 7, just for the extras (only 1 episode of Heroes, granted about the best episode).
The only thing worth watching was the Stunts (in extras).

I love Sci-Fi, so I am hooked on Heroes also. But does anyone else think the plot is really stupid?

I think Heroes is one of the most overrated shows of all time. What it is, is different from the Network shows, which is why it got such good reviews. It's not bad, but it's not as good as the hype.

Stupid? No. But it's Sci-fi and drama so you have to use your imagination. :D Regardless if anybody thinks it's overrated or not it's pretty cool and not much else on the major networks can touch it.

Hey Duff,

I know you are not much into buying discs...
But would you be interested in this set for 41.00 and 6.00 shipping?
Heroes box set, perfect condition....
