would you say that the $1500 1095 would have been a better purchase then the $1800 anthem? (based off of the specs that you were looking at?). just curious.

and what is the difference between this:
Continuous RMS, 20 Hz to 20 kHz, <0.1% THD
and
THD+N (200 W into 8 Ω) 0.001% at 1 kHz, 0.03% at 20 kHz

are they totally unrelated? what is the +N?

1500$ rotel 1095? I'd jump on that faster than you can tell me where ... :)

N is noise I think. Total Harmonic Distortion + Noise

and yes, they are not apples to apples

the second one with the 1khz OR the 20khz rating would be much more "forgiving" of a an amp. when the 20-20khz rating would be much more "demanding" I think it's because of how much more power is required to do 20-20khz

I paid $1200. for my Rotel 1095, they sell for $1995. list price, and I could have gotten it from the dealer for $1750.

I think he got a great price on a great amp. And I agree, he'll be hard pressed to use all the watts that Anthem has.

Plus I think its a pretty sexy looking too...

Poor little Babel; it took him 4 years to pull the trigger and now he wonders if he got all the right stuff.

Let me help you out; you got all the right stuff. You are probably in the top 10% of owners of great HT set-ups. Start enjoying it!

Me you!! and all the guilt from the carbs, and if you buy 2 you can get a better deal with snickers, but who needs 2!!! No way could I eat them back to back!

lol

I think you will wet yourself and be the happiest guy in the world with that set up. YOu went the right way and spent the cash on speakers and the sub. I think quality in an HT comes from 70% speakers 25% sub and 5% to the rest of the electronics. Some may dissagree but where the sound and feel comes from is there. That's not taking the room into account BTW.

You have a set that makes me drool.

lol thanks everyone.. I can't wait to get everything setup and to finally add a "link" to my set in my signature like everyone else. I always love checking out what everyone else has done.. :)

Heres a good question.. How important are cables at this point? If I just go and get some really heavy duty cable (eventually going with Blue Jean Cables) should I be fine for now or will I really see a huge difference if I spring for the BJCs now? Just curious.

lol.. yeah.. but my dealer (I always feel like I am talking about drugs when I say that) told me that they have some 3808s coming in at the end of this month. So I am expecting to seeing my amp really soon.. I am wanting to wait until the reviews come out so I can see which will be better between the 3808 and the 875.. its all coming together :)

You are driving me crazy; you must be the most patient man on the face of the earth. When I bought my system I was trying to figure out how to hook it up in my car because I couldnt wait the 15 minutes it was going to take to get it home. It turned out to take even longer because in the heat of the moment; I forgot that I was driving my 350Z. We got evrything loaded on the cart, took it out to the parking lot, pushed it over to my car and then just strated laughing. The sub was about the same size as the car. All I could say was "I'll be right back".

Hee, hee! Reminds me of when I tried to get my first sub home. Now that I'm getting a PC-Ultra, all I can say is thank goodness for home delivery.

You know how releases go; 2 week turns into two months turns into 6 months. The warranty on your speakers will be out before you ever hook them up.

The warranty doesnt start when you put the speakers in a certain room.

That's it, I have had it. You have now lost your rights to this new system. I need you to take it all the UPS and ship to me in Texas right now. We will split the cost of shipping.
