Hello everyone,
Just wanted to poke my head in and finally register here. I've been hitting Audioholics for a couple of years now reading reviews and such, and just found the forums yesterday.
I sort-of filled out my profile, so that should give you at least a little bit of info about me.
I'm a musician, going on 9 years now. My main instrument is bass guitar, but I also play trumpet, drums, violin, piano, upright bass and a little bit of guitar.
Coming from that side of things, I know what "we" as musicians do to get on CD what we want everyone to hear. Now, I want to be able to reproduce that, as much as produce it .
I'll be lurking around, posting, reading and generally sucking up as much info as I can. Hopefully I wont step on too many toes and tick anyone off.

No fan just yet really. I don't even own any equipment... Looking at getting a HTIB for my bedroom, just to ease into things. Once I get my degree and get settled into my own home I'll be dedicating a room for a studio as well as a budget-ish theatre. That's about two years away though. Maybe more. Working full time slows things down a tad.

That's one thing I notice about the forum... no place designated to ask questions about HTIBs? Or did I just miss it?

It's just that HTIB's aren't really recommended around these forums. Unless you have such a tight budget that nothing else would work.

So what's your budget and what do you need included in that budget? What size room?

I'll start a new thread in the Gen. AV section on that one. Just seems that "What system should I buy with $xxxxx" would be a common question and one that people would get tired of asking. Like another forum I frequent for bassists, a question is asked "What bass should I get with $xxxxx". So much needed info and such, and there's so many opinions, and asked so often, it's almost a "dumb question".
