Here is my new hose floorplan. Notice my MEDIA ROOM and the Consession area before you go into the theater.

The media room looks awesome. I don't think it really gets much better than what you've got there.

Thanks,

I'm pretty sure I'm going to overkill this room with my new setup soon to order.

Front Towers BP7000SC x 2
Center Channel C/L/R/3000 x1
Side Surrounds BPVX/P x2
Rear Surrounds BPVX/P x2
Sub's SuperCube® Trinity x 2 <----yes two of them

Still going to use my Denon AVR-3806 & Denon DVD-2910

Thought? Comments?

the floorplan looks nice (I'm an architect). I don't want any particular bedroom, just an invite to spend an afternoon in the media room ;)
Now seriously, finish the house and post pictures, or progress pics would be nice.

You plans look great! Terrific size for a HT. Have you considered putting your utility room between bathroom #2 & #3? This way your guest in bedroom 4 will have access to a private bath without having to walk down the hall. Also, is that a safe room in the back of your closet in the master? In my house that would be my section of the closet. LOL :D

A five car garage, that sounds like a great excuse to buy so toys to fill it up.

Yes we did but we didn't like how you would enter into the garage. I'm going to make that bathroom look like a bathroom you would see at a movie theater. The room in the closet is indeed a "safe room" It is block in there and will have a steel door, with a separate phone line in there. As far as the garage, the 3 car is going to be a show garage, with cars, but the large 2 car will be where I can work on my cars. I added 13ft ceilings in there so I can install a full size car lift. I can't wait to break ground!!!!

This is all awesome. I love the old wagons, too. You've obviously made some excellent choices in your life, so enjoy the payoff to its fullest. I refuse to jealous, but its very hard not to be.

Thanks Dave,

Do you know much about projectors? I don't. I was looking at the Pana ax100u, Want to fit a 150" screen 16:9 my room is 25ft by 17ft. Possible?

No, sorry. I've never looked at projectors. My house is...well...cozy, in real estate agent's terms. I limited myself to a 40" LCD and bookshelf speakers to keep things in proportion to my room size.

Looking at your floorplan again, I can almost see a little period-style projection/equipment room in the back with the light from the projector shining out of a little glass window through the darkness, just like at the theater. All the equipment could be set up in the back room and controlled discretely by a programmable remote. That would be cool (to me, but like I said, I don't know much about this stuff.)

What type of screen are you going to get? 150" is hugh! You won't find many vendors with screens this large. Carada makes a 142" 1.78 as part of their standard stock (approx. $900-$1000 depending on the frame, 1.3 gain is an incremental $100). Their web site says they will make a custom size screen. They get high marks from other posters. I'm planning on using them for the HT I'm building.
