It wasn't all based on what he posted. It was also where he posted. He was intentionally derailing other sub-forum threads. He and others have been asked to keep steam vent items in the steam vent. He refused to comply.
Nice use of the word 'de-rail'.....ie the 'Train Lovers thread', he for sure tried to take that one off the rails !!

Too bad, but I have to confess his ad hominem attacks were a major disruption on the forum and so unnecessary when he had so much to contribute.

This is usually out of character for Scandinavians, but may be his blood line was from the Vikings who plundered England and had half the country under Danelaw, until Alfred the Great got the better of them.

But in the end it was brains over physical strength. Alfred started research at Chatham on the Medway, to develop sailing boats that could sail multiple directions of the wind, not just at the stern sail and not require oars. It was an outstanding success and the Viking long ships were no match for these new sailing ships.

The final battle took place at Tilbury. That ended the Danelaw.

That is a long way of saying that regretfully you made the right call.
Careful. Someone may report you to the mods for stuffing too many threads with history lessons. :D

Yeah, Trell was very knowledgeable in some areas and I will miss him for that, but the political commentary outside of the steam vent was getting tiresome.

We need someone like Trell to keep everyone engaged. You don't necessarily have to reply to him, to some comment/remark you don't like. Yes, his politics does not agree with most, and he might enjoy stirring up the pot.......lol

No, he did go above what should be tolerated. Some of his posts were very rude, personal and brimming with envy and jealousy.

His politics were widely accepted here, FWIW.

And Trell would have been fine keeping it to the steam vent.
His politics don't align with mine, which is why I stay out of the steam vent. I don't wanna come here to discuss politics and it hasn't been easy but I'll keep trying. :)

Same here, once in a while I'll post up a cartoon in a political thread on steam vent just to joke around some. Thing is about those political steam vent threads bunch of really good AH member's hang out in those. They are Very knowledgeable when it comes to audio gear, speakers and will go out of their way to help anyone. But talk about political issues and you'll get bushwacked! Lol.

Trell? Helped a lot of people with audio video gear and speakers very knowledgeable. I had my share of run-ins with him on political issues. I've come to take him with a grain of salt he wasn't a bad dude. He could get crass though, especially when it came to politics.

I never had a problem with Trell, regardless of politics. But I did see those exchanges. I tended to avoid those threads once they became derailed, so you can see the issue. Other potential forum members can see it too.

That comment really goes to the heart of the issue. When he derailed my thread on the AV 10, I have to admit I was furious with him.

His derailments were just a bit more obnoxious than your steering of other threads into the direction of your new AV10. We get it, you like your new toy. I kid, of course.;)Enjoy your new toy!:)
