From what you say, it sounds as if you have broken the circuit board that port was attached to. These ports are pretty much always attached to the PCB board these days.
If you can't see the port, and it is just a hole where it was, this is what has happened. If that is the case your TV is no longer fit for service and the damaged board has to be inspected and almost certainly replaced. It could also be that the port was not properly attached to the board, and you have a legitimate warranty claim. If you can truthfully attest to the fact you did not push hard on the port, then you have a claim. Are you sure you took the protective cover off the end of the TOSLINK cable? Did you try and force it in with the protective cover on? If you did abuse the port, the cost of fixing this is your responsibility.
Not keeping damaged electronics in service, is a very good rule.
