Just got a Klipsch Reference Theater Pack from Costco also got R12SW subwoofer and a pair of R 41M Klipsch speakers to compare ( will get a center if I like it better than the Theater Pack) but I still need an AV receiver. Waiting for Denon X3500H (hard to find now) or 3600 to go down. Did you see any deals on the receivers or is it still too early for that? Thank you

Not one of Klipsch's better subs IMO. I'd not buy a Klipsch sub unless that copper colored cone is important to you :) Who gave it a good review?

ps You might check for big box stores like Best Buy for closeouts/open box type deals.....not something you're likely to find at Costco, tho.

The only reason I went to Costco is to be able to return the speakers if not satisfied. I never listened to Klipsch speakers before. I am not looking at any specific brand. I read so much but still don't know which speakers to chose. I just want a good sound. I listen to music ( instrumental, guitar, a cappella, contemporary hits, classical...) 60-70 % now. Great reviews were from the Costco members :(

There's a lot of speakers out there to choose from for sure....can you test the speakers/sub at all at this time? Klipsch has a wide variety of models, some better than others, some like them more than others do. They have just not been in the forefront on subs generally and I'd look to a sub specialist instead.

I will return this sub. Do you have any suggestions for a 5.1 system? I have a couple of surround speakers which could be ok for now. I am looking at bookshelf speakers instead of the towers, center, and a good sub. Of course, I still need an AVR. Is it important to pair correctly the speakers with the right AVR?

Well budget would be first before any suggestions would be possible. What speakers do you have now? You'd match speakers to an avr in terms of it's amp section's ability to drive them to desired levels, impedance of the speakers can play a role.

I have infinity Primus P362 towers with old Technics SA-GX 490 AVR 5 channels but no sub, Sony mismatched center, and a couple of small surround speakers. This is ok as a stereo but not great. I would like to stay with a small print but a large sound system. My budget is up to $2000 ( can stretch to $2500 if necessary). I will be listening mostly to Spotify, Pandora, YouTube, and Amazone prime music.

If you don’t mind used, I’m selling my 4400h. Sent you a message with link to USAudiomart listing. Thanks!

Didn't I just see another post where you had DT BP30s and an Infinity sub?

No never had any DT BP 30 or any sub.
Think it was probably just a similar screen name with 2020 in it then.....now as far as spending your money on speakers/subs I'd think about offerings from internet direct vendors like Hsu, SVS, RSL, Ascend....is the $2000-2500 inclusive of the Denon?

Yes, AVR is inclusive. I am hoping for some discounts when the new ones come out, in a few weeks. I heard Denon is better. I am open to other brands.

Denons are fine, have two myself (plus an Onkyo and a Sony), but generally I just say pick an avr for the feature set that works for you at a price you like. The feature set on the 3600 is pretty sweet, 3500 a bit less and a different internal design but if you can find one for the $600 many have gone for, I think that's a very good deal. Have you hooked up your new speakers/subs to the old receiver to test?

ps Nogaro's 4400 could work well, too

No, I didn't realize that I can't hook up a sub to my AVR. I will try Klipsch Reference Theater Pack without the sub. Nogaro's 4400 is 750. It's a year old so no warranty.... :(

Would think that model would have a three year warranty unless it was a refurb....but they're not transferable anyways afaik. No high level (i.e. speaker level) inputs on the sub?

There is LINE IN: L and R on the sub. I don't see any L and R on the AVR???

Thank you for the manual. This was an awesome idea but this manual is for three receivers. :390, 490, and 690. 690 is the only one with the sub connection ( as I can see), unfortunately.
