You just took a left turn on me again! Lol
My fault. I'll admit I'm confused now. To clear things up, if I am not able to go with dual subs (which at this point I don't think I can), then should I go with a single 12" or a single 15"? I thought the consensus was that a larger driver isn't going to help give me the loudness and flat response I need without the localization. Or will it be fine as long as I xover at 80Hz (which I currently am).

Single sealed 15 or single ported 12 would have similar output.

I think I should go with a sealed 12" because if I do decide to get dual subs, then a smaller footprint per sub will be desirable. Two 15" subs would be out of the question. If I get one 15" sealed sub, then that will be the end of it.

sealed 15 is a lot more surface area than a 12. Look at HSU ULS15
Right, but my issue is being able to pressurize the room while maintaining a flat response, blend with small mains (xover up to 100Hz perhaps), and no localization.

You currently have a sealed 12 inch sub!

I said implementation counts more than woofer size when it comes to playing tight and musical. I didn't say anything about volume.

At Absolute, barest minimum, smallest I would even consider in your space would be a single sealed 15 in sub (or possibly a powerful ported 12 or 13" sub). With a strong preponderance toward having two of them. Add to that, I think they should both be ported, but going sealed is the Compromise.

Okay, okay. The SVS SB-3000 is actually a 13" and is supposedly much better than the SB-1000, which is why I said that. I'm still open to a single 15".

I'll do some more experimenting, sub crawling, etc in the meantime.

Toooo big! :D I'd go with the SB-4000 before a PB-3000.

I still can’t help but think the pc2k is the best balance point here. ;)
I was thinking the same thing. We've come full circle, right back to the PC2000 (or 3000!).
That thing is a monster though. 16" diameter and 32" tall. That wont work in my space.
It's on the tall side, but its footprint as far as floorspace isn't really all that much.

I get the feeling you aren't physically restricted so much as you just don't want big speakers in your room. You gotta loosen up a little with these restrictions or just resign yourself to having sub-par bass.

Pun intended, lol.

I see a HSU Research ULS15 (sealed 15in) as a good option for you.
Me too. I think it's a decent compromise of size while still being large enough and powerful enough to make a noticeable difference.

If your going to go with ONE, and possibly a second one, I think the sb3k might be the best choice. It seems like the biggest obstacle for you is size(and maybe still holding tight to the sealed is tighter thing). So despite my earlier suggestion(and Ryan’s) I am voting sb3k BUT keep in mind I’m saying that while thinking of the SVS app to help control it. I imagine you’d try it in the original location which as we’ve covered, need some dsp.

I noticed you mentioned the PC2k was too tall. Two of my subs are pc12pluses and are 39” high!!! Can’t even see em...lol
Just shot this as I was typing.

And don't forget going with dual subs that they wouldn't both have to be in the living room! I'm sure a second one would work outside the immediate room if it's still sharing the same space. Remember the balcony!
