I Cussed Out Amazon

LOL Lord helmet Van Dyke almost sounds like he's royalty :) It's relatively new so we'll see how long that lasts. There's some rough stuff there, too, tho. It wouldn't surprise me the levels are way down in the reservoirs....they've just about killed the Colorado now.
Who is Lord Helmet? A relative to Lady lord helmet?

(Could not resists, was a bit confused the first few times I saw references to Lord Helmet,....)

By cussing out "Amazon", all you did was make someone's day a bit worse who had nothing to do with the problem you are having. Next time use some self control and intelligence to solve your problems.
Great advice.

Been there, done that. Normally I'm fairly coolheaded, but I had a situation about 4 mos ago at a Uhaul rental place blow up over something that was very trivial in the grand scheme of things.

The clerk was getting pretty confrontational over where to park my vehicle while using the rental...but when he told me what I heard in terms of the instructions (given by his co-worker) on where I should park my car...I had enough and lost it...told him maybe she did explain it, but I didn't hear it so you telling me what I heard is BS and if that was the tone he wanted to talk to me (he was talking as if I was a 10 y/o or something) he could have his f-ing rental back right now. Of course now he's offended so it escalated.

At that point I put the truck in park, ripped up the rental contract, demanded a refund, got in my car and left.

You're only hearing one side of the story, but clearly the clerk/manager was the instigator...that said, it takes two to tango. I didn't feel real good about how I handled it either....Took another 2 hours to find another truck rental...I did finish the project, but if I hadn't blown up that situation would've ended differently.

On the OP's situation, cussing out a customer service person over a late delivery was over the top.

Never seen a Amazon van.
One of the links in my post with the photo was an announcement that Amazon was buying 20,000 of these vans, but the economics of a delivery service go south pretty quickly when the distance between drop off points increases significantly, so rural areas won't see them anytime soon.
I'm pretty sure that even UPS is now having deliveries made through the USPS for conditions that are not conducive to their own operations!

I saw that and immediately thought of Space Balls- edited my last post after seeing that the site censored it for me.

I have gone of three rafting trips in the Canyon and every time, it was between rain, so the water was Jade green. Fortunately, the heavy snow last Winter will help, just not enough.

My experience w/Amazon has been very positive. My very first order got stolen. Notified Amazon and offered to send them a copy of the police report. They replaced the entire order right away and shipped it to me very quickly. However, it did require a signature IIRC. Have been a fan ever since. Just do not order from there very often. Never seen an Amazon van either. I sure wouldn't hesitate to order from them again should I decide to do so.

Cheers,

Phil
I'm an Amazon fan...the only time I get a little irked with their service is when their shippers transfer the shipment to the USPS. Starts out as a UPS shipment, but the post office ends up delivering it. The tracking info goes into a black hole...it normally gets there when they suggested, but that transition is always a surprise.

From my understanding, the Amazon delivery trucks deliver items that Amazon fulfills from their regional distribution center.

As I mentioned, I really do not order anything from Amazon on a regular basis. But, when I have they have been top-notch to deal with. That is why in the future I would not hesitate to order from them again. We all have bad days. But, no reason to take it out on someone else. I mean, Friday is my 1st ex-wife's birthday. Still thinking about sending her a dozen of black roses......LOL!!!! No really, I would never do that. Honestly, I am not sending her $hit!

Cheers,

Phil

Yep, the last two orders I put in to Amazon, they both where shipped UPS, then dropped off at my local post office. Which was delivered the next day thing about that it said out for delivery by UPS, but they UPS dropped it off at USPS.

I think it was an amazon drone that dropped the van off... I don't see any tire marks or ruts. Maybe the drone comes back to take the van to the next location?! ;)
I just posted the same comment without seeing yours. Gone now.

There are tons of those vans around here. They are just white though. No branding. I do like that they take a picture of the order in the delivery spot, but they don't ring the doorbell (good or bad depending) and I don't always get the notification instantly so stuff can sit on my porch for a while. No biggie, but I will say that since the "Amazon delivery service" has started delivering most of my stuff I've noticed a lot more packages get lost. That's maybe happened once with Fedex, UPS, USPS, in all the years I've ordered from Amazon, but with theirs it's happened twice in a year.

1st Ex? As in there's another Ex?

If so, you're a braver man than me...this one (marriage) is going on 31 yrs now, but if it ever ends...I have to pray that if there is indeed a heaven, fornicators get in.....very doubtful I would be getting married again. :)

Amazon...admittedly I'm still a fan of some brick and mortar shopping, but I use Amazon quite often. A lot of my golf stuff, I've gone direct to the sellers instead of through Amazon because I get access to their entire online catalog.

That said, Amazon is not always the best price...I bought a pair of Smith Optic sunglasses and surprisingly, REI had a better price by more than $10 for the same model.

Congrats on being married for that long. I know it is not easy as it is a lot of hard work. BTW, I have been married twice. But, the 1st time I was a bit too young inmho. The second just did not work out at all. I do better just staying single. Thanks for the info on Amazon as I do not order from them very often. Will keep this in mind. :)

Cheers,

Phil

Yeah, been married twice. Neither worked out. Guess I am just not the marrying kind. Like being single for the most part. My sweetheart lives in the Philippines. Do not see Marilou being my 3rd wife. That all depends on the Good Lord. ;)

Cheers,

Phil

Amazon.ca is my regular online store followed by eBay.

Someone was referring to parcels being dropped off at the door. Well, I live in an apartment building in Montreal, and they use various carriers to deliver the stuff and some drivers don't even knock at the door and drop off the parcel at the door. As I am retired, I am at the apartment most of the time and I often pick up parcels for my cute and young next door neighbor who is at work.

Once, I was expecting a delivery. I had received an email saying that it was delivered. So I went to the ground floor looking to see if the carrier had left my parcel near the post office boxes. No, there was no parcel there but I thought that he had left it with the janitor. No, he had not received anything for me. Then, I decided to go to the vestibule of the main entrance. There it was under the console that contains names of tenants with corresponding calling codes. I complained to Amazon about that and suggested they change carriers.
