properly cared for LP's have minimal clicks and pops, listened to my 40 plus year old copy of Steely Dan's Aja the other night and it is still pristine.

While you no longer listen to or enjoy 'black pizza', that's fine, continuing to insist it's time has come and gone just shows your ignorance........

Man, your pretty much fighting a losing battle with these new millennials. They just don't get Vinyl . Some of these cats in here remind me of that dude 'Data' on 'Star Track' which by the way I like Star Track all of them even the movie's . Except for that captain Picard dude.

You said that the other day. You were wrong then as you are now. While it's mainstream status is clearly no longer, it for sure has had a 'cult' resurrection, whether you want to believe it or not.

If you don't have an interest, that's fine, but don't think those of us that still enjoy it can't do so to a high degree of satisfaction !

Mike, its cutting into sales of other gear man, Vinyl that is, everything about Vinyl cuts deep and its cutting even deeper into sales now that some of the Newer Millennials are breaking away from the 'hive' of Ear bud phones don' t get me wrong I have a pair of ear buds for my phone. So what is the link to cutting the cord of all things Vinyl? It's to silence the people who like, love or just enjoys ALL things Vinyl. That also applies to anything else. It's been used against anyone who goes against the grain. What some didn't get anything you try to kill off like Vinyl, TT, Tube gear or fake speakers 'passive radiators' There will be 20 or 50,000 of us standing right behind you. .

If my network goes down I still have all the 0's & 1's of 550-600 CD's stored on my Bluesound Vault, plus steps away are the original source material. It's all got a mirrored 2TB backup too. I could always spin vinyl as well, and often do.

@KenM10759, What happens if the Vault gets contaminated? Your files get corrupted hacked? and some dude like this dude . Wants a ton of money or wants your L/R mains and your power amp as ransom payment. I have lots of 0 and 1s to...

The Vault 2 is used a lot, but someone would have to work unusually hard to get to nothing more than music. Hackers want money, and that kind of Vault has none.

The Western Digital MyCloud 2TB backup is very safe. I do a complete backup once a month, and disconnect it.

KenM10759, I protect my gear with booby traps. . You do know how static electricity feels when you get zapped right? . well think in the terms of when someone gets Zapped with a stun gun. . I hold them for a lil, ty-rap them too a chair and play all my Vinyl backwards at reference levels till their ears pop! . Than let them go, bet they never try to high-jack anyone's gear ever again.

Since most plastic can be recycled, it's just another reason to avoid putting these in the trash. For that matter, some albums were made from re-ground vinyl in the past.

You missed the whole point of my post. Let me ask you what if by chance the digiti grid goes down? One thing about analog it doesn't need 0's and 1's to survive.. They say it takes a thousand years for a plastic bottle to disintegrate and CD's 200 to 300 years at best. What happens when your PC hard drive crashes and you forgot to backup everything. . When the grid eventually crashes and it will Vinyl will rule the day! .Oh yeah and don't tell me you got everything stored in the cloud

hmmm. I thought my post was giving you high fives for the great musical selection you chose to highlight on some newly pressed vinyl. I owned it on vinyl once as well. Great album no matter the format. I play both formats in my music room: HD files (stored locally and backed up and stored in several ways: including in a fireproof safe) and vinyl. The vinyl is stored just propped up waiting to be played. I even have some new pressings.

I applaud your love of the vinyl format and your choice of Foghat to illustrate it. If you are still around playing it in 200 years, please tip back a cold beverage for me and say "I told you so".

I did recognize your nice gesture! It's one of the few things that remains among audio enthusiast from days gone by.. With the way technology has taken off with audio video and all the wonderful gear all the improvements with the 'sound/surround' it's hard not to get lost in the digital world. The vast improvements of AVR's, Amp technology processor technology, "integrated' audio video into homes! 'Virtual Reality 3D' . Brings so much Joy! to the masses of music and movie lovers! Sitting eating popcorn, ice cold soda, but in the Comforts of your Home!
When I first got into this hobby, What I like to call my 'Passion' 'My First Love' of this hobby, which in reality is my love for the 'Art of Music, without that being my 1st. love of music? I don't believe I would have stayed the long haul. Still remember my 1st. Concert, Styx, FOGHAT and a little unknown band of the time known as, Canned Heat.. Driving back with headphones on pluged into my 8 track player mounted under the dashboard of my 62 Pontiac Catalina. Vinyl ruled the day, the Fidelity of a 'direct-drive' Turntable with a good magnetic cartridge and one of my favorite albums at the time was Styx ll. Nothing ever came close to soothing my mind and stilled my heart when I was 'Mood'. So I say let the Millennials go make their own memories, They can't have our Love for, ALL THINGS ...' Vinyl ., They will just have to find some in the Analog Waves Man.. If they do happen to find that one 'Groove' on that nice New Virgin Vinyl 180g, LP? The surfings gonna to be good man!.

PS.,loveinthehd, I got one for you man.. Grand Funk Railroad, 'Survival' I had the LP, but gave it back to my oldest brother, he had just came back from Germany when he got discharged from the Vietnam War. I asked him for that album. Anyways I have the CD now. It is my all time best from that time of days gone passed.
