What AV Receiver to buy?

Apologize if this isn't the right place to post this question.

I do not know a whole lot about this stuff and am not looking to break the bank on my home theater system. Would like to spend less than 500$ on a new receiver. I want something to provide reasonable sound for everyday TV watching, movies and the occasional video game. Extra features are nice (wireless connectivity, etc.) but not must haves.

Speakers: Klipsch Synergy Quintet III
Subwoofer: Klipsch Sub-12HG
Current AV Receiver: Yamaha RX-V467

The living room is ~ 16 ft x 21 ft, and is open to the kitchen area behind it... Probably not the best for acoustics but it is what I have.

My receiver has stopped working... Seems like I can buy the same one on amazon for a few hundred used. Should I?
Or what AV Receiver would you recommend?
I'm thinking of maybe a getting a 7 channel one so that I could hook up music in a different zone (outside) for when we host family and friends. Any input would be appreciated.

Out of all the AVR available I always look for the offerings from Marantz, Denon, and /or Yamaha. Personally, I prefer Audyssey to YPAO. Be sure to check out the B-stocks from Acc4less. Lots of good buys there. Here is a link for you:

Don't be afraid to buy B-stock. Have bought like 4 AVR's from Acc4less w/o and issues whatsoever. Highly recommend! Best wishes to you.

Cheers,

Phil

Thanks for the response.
In terms of power, what should I be looking for?
From some brief research I've done, the numbers provided by the manufacturers are not very standard (depending on how they are measured? i.e. 80W advertised by one does not equal 105W advertised on another) - so what should I shoot for?
My current one has a rating of 105W output power, but per the spec that's at 1kHz with only 1 channel driven... so doesn't seem like it tells me a whole lot about overall performance when I'm running all 5 channels (although I'd imagine all 5 aren't going at the same time).

With the speakers that I have, and the type of listening / viewing I would do, do I need to be concerned at all or would any standard AV Receiver today be sufficient and provide reasonable sound quality?

Thoughts on:

58% off...

I would NOT focus so much on power specs because most AVR's in that respective price range are going to be very similar in terms of power. What is more important is the features. Pay attention to your needs feature wise first and foremost.

The Denon x2000 would be fine power wise, but what about the feature set? Do you want to be 4K compliant? If so, then you need an AVR that is HDCP 2.2 compliant. Thus, the x2000 is not. The Denon x2200 would be HDCP 2.2 compliant.

Cheers,

Phil
