Fatal super puma crash

The only way the rotor head comes off in flight would be the gearbox casing to come apart, as best I know. Nothing the pilot can do, no autorotation possible, no rotor head.
Same if just one blade separates.

It's claimed that the 2009 crash was due to a crack in the gearbox, causing the gearbox to fully get jammed, while the rotation of the rotor caused the whole shaft to break off...

The Norwegian division of CHC Helicopter had 13 Super Puma 225 and 2 older Super Puma 332, and 14 Sikorsky S-92, so they also fly Sikorsky...

It's stated by Norwegian papers that super puma is being regarded as a death trap by employees in the North sea at Norwegian and British sector, a campaign is going on in order to make a permanent closure of all flying with both models of super puma in the North Sea. Since Friday, supposedly 12.000 people signed this protocol.

At the same time, Airbus management is going official stating that something like this never happened before with super puma and they want to start the flights with super puma as nothing happened, claiming there is no risk whatsoever with the super puma ec225.

I guess that is a good possibility. Tremendous forces are being stopped in short order.
I bet the engine shafts would also snap and engine would soon disintegrate as it overspeeds or tries to.
Am not an aero engineer but have some time in helos.

It's probably obvious but now official.... Based on technical findings from the wreckage and recordings of the black box: The accident investigation today disclosed that with 100% certainty the accident was caused by a technical malfunction of the super puma and that it's out of the question that any human error could have caused or contributed to the accident.

At this moment they don't want to discuss similarities with previus accidents, specificially the one previously mentioned from 2009.

EDIT: There was not recorded any "mayday" from the chopter, which means from one second to the next, all was ok, and then all he## broke loose instantly

No further details of this is yet disclosed.
