The Amazing Spider Man 2

I don't know about this...we saw "The Amazing Spiderman 2"...is it more amazing than Spiderman 1? Well...it was in 3D and fairly loud, but what surprised me is that some of it was kinda slow. I think they're trying to add some substance and scripted sincere feeling in a corporate-movie sort of way, but we already know from oodles of other Spiderman movies, that Peter is a troubled superhero. Also, potential girlfriends...beware....this guy is trouble; not that he's not a nice guy but it's like getting close to a tornado...you get hit by the debris. Anyways, in case you were sitting on the edge of your seat - yes, there WILL be yet another sequel, Peter Parker will never really grow up and New York will sorta be safe with Spiderman on patrol, except for all the bad guys and supervillians who come there just to GET Spidy. It's entertaining for a couple hours, not too bad in 3D and I enjoyed it, in spite of itself.

I just can't get used to this new cocky bastage playing him. Toby McGuire will always be the true Spider-Man.

+1 I disliked the first one. He's a good actor, but he is miscast IMHO. I've read it's bad, so I'll wait to see it on Netflix/Prime when I'm bored.

I agree, but they never should have made that last movie. That one was the pits.

Between his silly dance down Broadway and Eric Forman trying to act bad, what WERE they thinking???

I thought Toby was a rather lousy Spiderman and Garfield is far better cast. I literally hated the first and third movies from the previous ones, but the second one was OK. At least in terms of directing/acting in the new one, Garfield nails the personality of the original from the comics IMO.

You literally hated a Spiderman movie? You do realize they are all just juvenile fluff, right? You might consider the idea that you could be taking kids movies too seriously. Its time to go outside and enjoy the daylight, my friend, its a beautiful day outside.

So ironic that you post on an internet forum that I should go outside... You should also realize your opinion about what I like, dislike or do is completely irrelevant right?

I gotta say, I wasn't a huge fan of the Toby Spiderman films, however I think Garfield has done a pretty good job so far. I haven't seen this one yet, but I don't expect it to throw me any curveballs in terms of the acting and special effects.

Although I hate the web thing in the "Amazing" spider-mans. I think this last movie was the best of the bunch. Toby to me was just not exciting to watch, and I hate the fact that the most memorable moment of the three movies is the cringe worthy scene of him walking down the street pointing at everyone. The 3rd movie about Venom was the killer for me. I love Venom as a character and they completely released garbage for that movie.

I thought it was pretty good, but could not resist a certain amount of eye-rolling and thinking that the producers should have put the same amount of energy into a plot line that has NOT been around for 40 years and been re-booted several times. Yeah, Peter Parker got bit by a strange spider, got super powers to fight nasty bad guys. In spite of this, he's still a troubled adolescent, has trouble with girlfriends, is frequently misunderstood by authorities but adores his kindly and emotionally wise aunt. How about something I DON'T know?

That's what I find annoying about these reboots is Peter Parker, won't grow old. I won't watch the reboots I prefer the 2000's versions they have state of the art visuals and sound why do they need to reboot for sakes of atmos and bouncing cybertron off the walls in 3d.

We all grow old its natural order. What the script writer excuse be? The spider bite won't let him age.

I liked these two better than the previous Toby ones. Garfield plays the personality better IMHO. 3D is pretty awesome on both of these too.

If it were 3D for $10 I would have bought them. :)

No one is going to say it... no? Ok... I will. This movie was poop.

Was the script jigsawed together? The story is hacked together so haphazardly I found myself doing literal "wt*'s" at the screen.

Jamie Foxx's Electro is shallow, but I got the feeling they where trying to make it seem as though he had depth. Also, he sparks electricity everwhere and somehow it makes dubstep music... another "wt*"

Peter Parker is annoying. His relationship with Gwen Stacey should have ended in the first movie, but the writer's needed filler to give some sort of extra "depth" to the movie. (don't say anything about the comics, I'm talking about the flow of a motion picture here).

The movie continued to annoy me, but I can't be bothered to elaborate further, no point. :D

I didn't like the plot of the second one, it was definitely thin and cobbled together, but the first one was good. The second one was an attempt to extend the franchise, but I still enjoyed it.

With the originals, I could not stand 1 or 3, but I liked 2.

Never bought Tobey as spiderman. I'm not thrilled with Garfield but I feel he is more true to the character.

Forgot to mention the new Venom movie I heard they are planning. I would love to see that character done right.
