Hi there I am looking at upgrading my av receiver to a yamaha rxv-3081 I have read about the amp sounds good and ticks all the boxes as I am running abit older jbl L880 speakers. Just want to know what people's thoughts of yamaha rxv av receivers range are?

The higher up the RX-V range you go, the stouter the power supplies, and more robust the amp section that goes along with more features as well. I would upgrade by aging RX-V1800 to a RX-A2060 to get me to 4K pass though, HDMI ARC and upgrade to multipoint YPAO but budget won't allow me for the time being. I also own an older RX-V1500 which I bought used and predates HDMI. I have that running in my secondary system. I love the Yamaha quality and reliability.
