About 2 months ago the remote control volume buttons stopped working. All the buttons are responsive (power/input selector/mute, etc) with the exception of the 2 volume buttons. I figured I’d take it apart and spray some compressed air/contact cleaner and all would be well with the world. When I attempted to take it apart, by removing the 2 visible screws, the 2 body-halves would not loosen and I didn’t want to bludgeon it into submission since all the other buttons are fine. I also tried carefully prying it apart using a thin blade putty knife. No dice. Any ideas?
I know the unit is old & antiquated but it was the first true mid-level audiophile purchase for me in 1993 and I’ve grown attached to the old bugger.
