Will a 2.1 soundbar work on a HDTV with a 5.1 input?

I just bought the LuguLake 2.1 Channel 140watt TV Sound Bar System with Wireless Subwoofer and I want to know if I can plug it into the audio input on my TV that's labeled for 5.1 surround sound?

...I have bought this soundbar before I found this may be a problem.
Anyway thank you.
Now this LuguLake soundbar have been in my room. I tested it is in good condition when play with my flat TV.

It should, but don't expect more than two channels from it.
