Hello

I was wondering about speaker cables and wich you recomend for my case.
I have dedicatded movie room and my avreciver is Denon avr-x7200wa.

Front speakers is Klipsch RP280F and center klipsch RP450C.
Subwoffers 2 klipsch R-112sw.
We measure diffrent in Sweden then you do.
My speker lenght is going to be 2.5 meters length and 1 meter to the center.

What gage should you recomend and should i get coppar or silver cables..?
Thicker or small cables, going to make any diffrens..?

Klipsch recomends atleast 16 gage to the rp280f front speaker but dont say anithing about the length.

In sweden we use "mm" instead of "gage" can you say wich "mm" i should use..?
And what about power cords..?
A seller recomends shunyata Venom HC Power cord for my amp instead of that on folowd whit the denon.
Bulshit or is it any truth in it..?
Waste of money..?

Hope you can help me and you understad what i mean..:)

Im going to biamp the speakers frome the denon whort it..??

Best reagards
Peter

For just the front 3 speakers since the runs are not too long, AWG won't be critical I would use 14AWG, even though 16 is probably OK. Going up to 12AWG won't really improve anything.

14AWG = 1.63mm

NO, you do not need an expensive power cable that does the same thing as the one it came with.

No, it is not worth it to biamp from a receiver.

Ok
I use IXOS gamma cable to day 4.6mm and 2.6mm overkill..?
More bad then god for the sound..?

And what about coppar or silver in the cable is it any benyfit over the other..?

Larger wire will not degrade the sound, so yes it may be a bit of overkill, but it will be fine if that's what you have.

I never found silver coated wire to add any significant benefit sound wise.

Agree with the others. Don't know what you can buy in Sweden so can't really recommend a brand and most brands are more about selling bullshit than basic speaker wire, altho if you want something better in an aesthetic sense than basic speaker wire they can have some value (or you can make your own). Personally I just buy 12g wire in bulk from monoprice.com (or anyone else with decent all copper speaker wire at a good price) and cut to the length I need. If you're going to change gear in and out of the system banana plugs can be very handy but they're not needed, altho they can make installing in tightly packed terminals on the back of a receiver easier.
