Folks, I am in need of some new speaker cabling. That said, where is the best place to get banana spades? I am going with Sewell Deadbolt banana plugs. But, it doesn't look like Sewell makes banana spades. Here are the Sewell banana plugs I plan to use:

https://www.amazon.com/Deadbolt-Banana-12-pair-Sewell-Direct/dp/B01MFAIFU2/ref=sr_1_7?s=audio-video-accessories&ie=UTF8&qid=1480867741&sr=1-7&keywords=banana+plugs&th=1

I really like the banana spades that SVS sells, but looking for some a little more affordable. The Monster Quick Lock banana spades also look very good. But, they are aslo the same price as the SVS spades. In fact, they look a lot alike too.

So, I did find these a little cheaper:

https://www.glsaudio.com/GLS-Audio-Spade-Plug-Connector--Safe-Connect-Series--8-Pack_p_463.html

Have owned GLS plugs in the past and really liked them. But, these come in an 8-pack. I need at least a 10-pack minimum. Not sure if GLS would sell me a a single set or not? Will try to find out. In the meantime, is there any other place/brand that I need to consider? My goal is to use banana plugs on my AVR and banana spades on my speakers. Plan to use either 14 AWG or 12 AWG speaker wire. Not sure just yet which way I am going speaker wire wise. Right now, need help regarding banana spades. All help would be most appreciated. Thanks!

Cheers,

Phil

I picked up some of the Sewell strike and they seem to be working good and very easy install.

Also have a receivers with monoprice banana plugs and they work good too.

The Sewell plugs are shorter so that can be a plus.

Yeah the Bullet/Strike plugs really look nice. However, I prefer the Deadbolt style myself. The good thing is though, just went to Sewell Direct and they do have 45 degree angled banana spades at a very good price. Reading up on them now and may just place my order here shortly. What AWG speaker wire are you using? I prefer 12 AWG myself. Just curious as to what you are using. Thanks!

Cheers,

Phil

16 on what I already had run in the walls but anything new I use monoprice 12.

On all my Inwall subs and amps I use 12.

Yeah, I prefer runnjing 12 AWG myself. Have used Monoprice 12AWG wire in the past. Still have some here. But, I want to use speaker wire within a jacket. Only need the 2-conductor type. Looking at several possibilities. Need at least 100' for the time being. If I add in height speakers later on, then I will need more. No hurry here. Just trying to cover all of my bases so to speak. Thanks for the info!

Cheers,

Phil

Looks like I am going to go with the Sewell DeadBolt banana plugs and the Sewell 45 degree spades. Now, just need to figure out which speaker wire to go with. Hope to place my order for everything tomorrow. Anyone have any suggestions for 12 AWG speaker wire? Hope to find some in a jacket that is 2-conductor in white, grey, or black. Any suggestions?

Cheers,

Phil
