Brother Thelonious is good!

As far as light summer beers in TX, try:

St Arnold Lawnmower
St Arnold Weedwacker (Same base as lawnmower, but different yeast)
Austin Beer Works Pearl Snap Pils
Southern Star Blonde Bombshell

All of these are mighty fine beers brewed in TX, and all are mighty fine for a hot TX summer!

I've had Blonde Bombshell and St. Arnold Lawnmower before. I'll check out the others one of these days (I've got a long mental list of beers to try). The shandys are mostly for the ladies but I enjoy them as well. I haven't tried the grapefruit one so I'm looking forward to that :)

I dunno if you read the label on the growler but that's Texas Helles, a Munich helles lager from Community Beer Co in nearby Dallas:

The Avery Liliko'i Kepolo is a fruity witbier from one of my new favorite breweries: https://www.averybrewing.com/beers/liliko-i-kepolo

Karbach BBH is of course from Karbach down in Houston:

The Avery Callipygian is pretty strong at 17.4% :D

Yup, Avery is top notch. I love the Maharaja!

I haven't tried the Community stuff yet.

That Prairie Bomb--I had the Birthday Bomb a couple weeks ago and it was freaking awesome!!!

Yeah, Karbach has been pretty solid too. I just tried the Hopadillo last night, it is a good IPA!

I love Community. I've had their Witbier, Razzy witbier, Ascension baltic coffee porter, Legion stout, and barrel aged Legion. Ascension and both Legions are some more of my favorites. I'm not an IPA person but I'd like to try their Mosaic and Sundial IPAs.

Prairie Bomb is excellent for sure. I've really enjoyed all the Prairie beers I've had - just last weekend I finished a 64oz growler of Prairie/Evil Twin Bible Belt which is Evil Twin's Even More Jesus stout aged and spiced like Prairie Bomb. It was super delicious.

Unfortunately I don't think I'm going to buy anymore products from Prairie. I've contacted them several times, trying to find out which products contain lactose or nuts and they apparently can't be bothered to get back to me. Jerks. Avery got back to me within minutes. Clown Shoes and other breweries got back to me in a couple hours. Haven't heard a thing from Prairie. Major bummer :(

Maharaja is my favorite IPA.

The first time I had Hopadillo was when it first came out and I was on a patio in Austin with my father, it was the best thing I have ever had in my life. I checked the store here in FTW each week asking if they had it for almost 6 months. They finally got it in and I took home a cool 12 of them. They weren't as awesome as I thought so it must have been being with my Dad that was so great.

drinking Italian wine from the north, near the Swiss / Austrian border. Hence the German sounding name!
