I currently own Denon 4311ci and it's a very nice receiver. I did however once tested it vs the Yamaha RX-A2020. A friend of my said it was magic compared to Denon 4311.
Yamaha was very impressive with the clarity of sound (a bit more detail was heard with higher frequencies) and LFE was amazing (better than 4311ci) but I still kept Denon 4311 as it did better with regular TV from cable sound.
I got thinking that maybe the reason why Denon was not giving such detail as Yamaha is because of my poor room acoustics and maybe Denon's Audyssey room correction software on purpose made sound a bit less bright to compensate??? Could that be? Should I try turning off the Audessey and test those movies again? But then all other setting (LFE volume) won't be accurate.
Don't get me wrong ... Denon 4311 sounds great, BUT Yamaha gave more detail and LFE of some parts was phenomenal.
Any thoughts?
