Well folks-it is hard to believe, but it is that time of year when we give thanks for the blessings we have in our lives. With that being said, what are YOU thankful for AND how has it impacted your life? Here is a way that YOU can reflect upon the things in your life that YOU are most grateful for. Feel free to be as specific as you like.

In keeping with the spirit, please allow me to wish you all a Happy and most Gracious Thanksgiving. Please remember those that may NOT be as fortunate as a little bit of caring can make ALL the difference in someone's life. Reach out; reach-up and share! Most importantly, be careful and stay safe during this holiday season. We all know that things can get rather hectic.:eek: Season Greetings. ;);)

Cheers,

Phil

Great post.

I'm thankful for my wonderful family and to know in my heart that I'm better because of them. I'm thankful I live in this great, imperfect country where those who disparage her can walk freely next to me on the street. I'm grateful for the military, the soldiers, and all those who have paid such sacrifice to give those same citiizens and some of our leaders, the right to malign the very ones who afford them the luxury. I just love this country and couldn't imagine being anywhere else despite our imperfections and who's in office.

I'm thankful and grateful to God for putting up with me, cutting me the slack he does, and understanding that I do know it's wrong to hear from me less when times are good. I'm working on that.

I'm thankful for this forum too. It's not just all the great advice that is so generously shared, or that that advice has saved me money and allowed me to have the best system I can within my means, but it's because of the great people that I get to talk to and share ideas, thoughts, triumphs, and failures with. I know that sounds a bit dramatic, but for me it's true. Even though I've never met any of you personally, I still consider some of you my friends and I think that's pretty cool.

I am thankful for Family/Friends/Health. The stuff that matters.

Three weeks ago my wife miscarried. I am thankful she is 100% fine. Really puts things into perspective. She was ~10 week along and it happens about 1 in 6. Not uncommon.

I am thankful that on Saturday I walked into Motor City Casino in Detroit on a lark with a friend. I walked in with $200 and five hours later walked out with $1300.

Great Tommy and thanks for posting. Hope all is well for you, Kira, and the wife. Been keeping you all in my prayers. ;);) It sounds like you have plenty to be thankful for my friend. Personally, I can NOT wait until " March Madness " myself. I am sure that UK will play a major role. Things are really looking up for them. :):) Good to hear from you my friend.

Cheers,

Phil

Wow Chris-very concise. Like Tommy, it sounds like you both have things into perspective. It is great to hear that you both are thankful for what God has given you while acknowledging many short-comings. After all, none of us are perfect. Glad to hear you recognize the things in your life that truly matter, as well as make a significant difference in your life. ;);)

Oh man, I am so very sorry for you and your wife's loss. :(:( However, I do respect your decision for letting us all know about something so personal. That takes great courage. It is a testament to your true character. We all salute you for doing so AND are here if you need us. Lastly, since you won $1300 can I borrow $20? ;);) Thanks for sharing.

Cheers,

I am glad that my employer is continuing to thrive in the face of the economic meltdown, so that I still have a job.

I am glad that , after 8 years of incompetence, we finally have a decent president.

I am glad that I have finally found a girlfriend who says she is interested in saying with me long-term.

I am glad that I am in good health, and that my family are in good health.

(I use the word "glad" instead of "thankful" because there is no specific entity toward whom to direct thanks.)

Great Thread and Great Posts.

I am thankful to God and to be able to live in such a great country with freedom of speach and the abiltiy to work hard and be successful.

I am happy for my wonderful family and my health.

I am happy that I am able to enjoy music and HT and that I have found such a fine forum as Audioholic with people willing to share their vast knowledge and experience with everthing from Burr Brown DACs to THD % to speaker impedance to how to cook ribs to how to use a sub to shake-and-break a vase you really wanted to get rid of

I however am not thankful for the state of "Give Me Everything" economics our country is currently in and the proposed socialism economic plan and thinking. But there is hope that good advisors are chosen and can give advice the can be looked at through hopefully non-radical eyes.

Go Veterans and Americans!

God Bless America!

Great Midcow and thanks for sharing. You too have a lot to be thankful for in spite of the shape our great country is in. I share many of the same sentiments my friend. Hopefully, things will turn around and we as a people can come together as one nation. Very interesting perspective my friend. Like you, I believe America is up for the challenge. ;);)

Well, I guess it was time for me to post what I am thankful for. First and foremost, I am thankful that God blessed me with a wonderful Mom. As such, I thank him every single day that my Mom is still alive. Further, my Mom is the strongest person I know and so was her Mother. ;);) I will never be as strong as either of them. I also appreciate my family very much. More specifically, I am very proud of my daughter in that she has a job and has been on it for almost (2)-years now.

I am also very thankful for what I have. Luckily, I now have a much newer place to call home. God has been very good to me and I can NOT thank him enough. Lastly, I am also very thankful to come across this great forum where I prefer to hang-out in above ALL others. It is here that I have made a lot of friends and look forward to making many more. I am thankful that many of you guys have helped me to grow in this great hobby. So guys, I can NOT thank you all enough as in a way you are my extended family. :):)

You know I think it was after I got disengaged from my fiance when I was 30 that suddenly everything sorda fell into perspective. At that time I was making a good 6 figure income and everything was going as planned... had the beautiful gal on my arm and had plans for the house, kids... etc. Everything was going the way it was supposed to.

Then... I my fiance cheated on me with her richer boss - suddenly that was all over. Then the president of the company I ran started poking his nose in the company and literally caused it's collapse in a year or so, and I was left thinking... wow... what the hell just happened to me. I learned quickly that everything you have can go away or be taken without any fault of your own. So I got to thinking that if all this can happen on it's own, I'd better start doing better at managing the things I can... namely myself and how I think about things and conduct myself.

In the end, I just don't believe the hype. That's all. I don't care how much money I make or don't make or how much the guy in the Ferrari makes because in the end... you're just a cold booger on a paper plate like everyone else and a stranger, life, or God can all give, take, or teach to you without warning. I think about the stupid things I've done and still sometimes do and say and I look up and feel pretty grateful God hasn't just had it "up to here" with me. Believe me, I always get a little nervous when it thunders and I hope that never changes.

My life is great right now. Not because of the house I live in or the stereo I can buy, but because my wife and my daughter are the very best things that could have ever happened to me. When we got married a year and half ago, we became an instant family and I'm such a better person because of them.

Wealth? To me it's sometimes having to let go first when my duaghter hugs me each day when I come home from the office and it's looking up from what I'm doing and gazing across the room at my wife to find her already looking at me with smile on her face. That's riches my friends.

Bravo Chris, You are exactly right. I am very glad that you recognize what truly matters in your life. It seems at times we are all looking for something when the truth is it is right there in front of you to begin with. It sounds like you are smart enough to realize that and as such are able to put it all into the proper perspective. For that my friend, I salute you. ;);)

Guess it is a bit too early for asking such a question. Perhaps many are still making plans as opposed to have already made them......I am NOT sure. Oh well, it never hurts to ask eh? ;);)

My plans are rather simple-just spend time with my Mom and help her along. My daughter may be in from TN so I hope to spend some time with her as well. However, she is supposed to bring her boyfriend.:rolleyes: Was sorta hoping to spend some time with her, but it looks like I might as well get used to it. Lastly, I get stuck this time with mostly working. :D:D Hey, I only owe $88.25 on my new Panny BR player so I can't complain. ;);)

Cheers,

Phil
