Teac A-h500 Amp problem

The issue i have is the sound every so often cuts out a few times then fine again,i first thought it was the cd player, but it still does it when using an ipod for the input..
Thanks for any help..Fingers crossed i can sort it,as i love the system..

Make sure you have no whiskers in your speaker connections, at the speakers or amp. It sounds as if the amp is going into protection. All it takes is one small strand of wire in the wrong place to do this.

In fact I would redo your speaker wire connections and test the leads with an ohm meter to make sure none of the leads have a stray ground connection.

If there is no speaker wire problem, then the amp is developing a problem, most likely in one of the output stages, causing excess current draw and tripping protection. Unless you are experienced in service work, this is not something you will sort out.
