We've had a lot of computer speaker/desktop questions lately and it seems like time for a shootout between powered studio monitors. After all no Audioholic would be caught dead with a $100 2.1 system.
My suggestion would be two tier shootout with Audioengine's A5+, Behringer's B2031A, KRK's Rokit Powered 6 G2, JBL's LSR2325P, and Emotiva's Airmotiv 5s making up the top tier since all sell for roughly $375-450/pr. It would also be a fun sidebar to see how they compare as professional studio monitors.
For tier 2 (< $250/pr street price) I'd like to see the Audioengine A2, M-Audio's AV40, Swan's D1080, and Behringer's B1030A.
Now you know you guys would have fun with this one.
