split screen while watching dvd movies

I have an Optoma projector powered thru a Denon AVR-3806 receiver. When I try to watch dvd movies or play xbox; the picture is split into 2 sides; with a ratio of about 3/4 on the left and then repeats itself on the right side 1/4 of the screen. I"m pretty sure its in the settings but I don't know which ones.
Also, I'm not getting any sound. The DVD player is connected to the Amp with component cables and the monitor is connected to the amp with HDMI cable.
Any suggestion, Guys. Need help!

I had that problem one time too.

In my case, all it took to fix the problem was to power down all of the devices and reseat the HDMI cables.
