Sony's new VPL-HW40ES projector aims to deliver a lot of bang for the buck in the $2,500 price class. Based on Sony's SXRD LCoS chipset, the VPL-HW40ES offers full 1080p and 3D output, as well as 1,700 lumens of light output and a host of technologies aimed at improving image quality. There is also a host of available accessories including a wireless HDMI unit, RF 3D External Transmitter, and IR 3D External Transmitter. While not exactly an entry level unit, the VPL-HW40ES appears to be worth serious consideration.

I wonder how this compares to the EPSON 5030? Looks like an awesome PJ for the price. No dynamic iris though. When I move in a few months, this will be on my short list of PJ's.
