you might try powering the amp with no wires attached into the back. it sounds like you have a short somewhere, in which case bypassing the protection would result in a meltdown or worse.
if it will stay on with no wires attached, add one speaker at a time, as it may be a short in one of the speakers or you had a wire shorted.
if all the speakers will run off the radio, then add your other components one at a time to see if one of them is the problem.
if it all goes back together and there are no problems, you probably had a short somewhere.
just be sure to disconnect any piece that causes a problem, then finish all the rest of the pieces one at a time. you might actually have more than one problem.
