My 1.2 Year old sony Blu ray player is dead ... Which is stays at " Please Wait " stage and
doesn't go forward . According to Sony repair guy , whole mother board required to be replaced &
it will cost me Rs. 10K .. Which is rubbish to invest & again which will have no warranty .

I am looking for Yamaha or Pioneer AV receiver , which supports ( 2/4/6/8 Ohms ) with wattage
mentioned in specs .
My Question is will 3 Ohm Center / surround 100 Watts & 6 Ohm woofer will work with these
receivers . If yes , will it be affecting receiver in long term ??

Or should i go for HTIB from Pioneer / Yamaha in 25 K budget . An honest answer will be very helpful.
I am not able to enjoy music since 1 month or so :(
Caption is lil messed UP sry .

first off, what do you mean by 25k? 25 thousand? 25 thousand what? Most of the posters here are American.

when you say "wattage mentioned in specs", what specs?

Forget about a 2 ohm capable receiver. It ain't happening. You can find some 4 ohm capable receivers but even then they might not be budget units.

Also, all "real" receivers use powered subwoofers so your current 6 ohm unit won't work with any real receiver.

In all honesty, if you're trying to salvage speakers from an HTIB, you're probably better off getting new speakers too. 3 ohm speakers are an iffy proposition.

We have had requests for advice and problems with that Sony HTIB with 3 ohm speakers before. People have used those speakers with receivers, and it has blown the receivers up.

As has been pointed out the sub is useless too unless you want to add an external amp to power it. I would avoid an HTIB. They are not very good and you quite likely will be back in the same position in 1.2 years.
