Sanyo speaker wiring question

I have a pair of Sanyo six-dav821 speakers. They have 4 wires coming out the back with a 4 pin flat female plug. I want to hook them up to a regular 2 wire system. How do I do this? Also I don't see a way into the box as there are no screws

So those speakers are from setup like this I assume: http://www.manualguru.com/sanyo/dc-dav821/users-manual/page-5

Are those wires/connectors color coded? If so and there is 2 and 2 then you could put the same colors together and have them with 2 wire. How ever I'm not sure if this is safe for your speakers / amp. Best thing would be to get real speakers instead of those package speakers that came with the main unit for your safety and better performance. These for example offer really good performance for low cost: http://philharmonicaudio.com/aa.html

there's not really a lot of information on these. They are part of an "integrated" yhere all pieces are designed to only work with other pieces if that particular system.

If this helps, here's a link yo your owners manual.

If it's any consolation, it looks like it MIGHT be a biamp setup which would make them pretty useless without the main unit..

You are right. IF (I believe they are) they are biamped then those speakers most likely won't have any kind of crossover and this will cause problems if you try to run them without the original main unit.

Thanks folks they were free as the head unit took a spill. They didn't sound too bad so I thought I would try. The wire colours are blue, black, white, grey.

Sorry I'm new to this forum stuff. The manual you showed is exactly what I have. Blue, black, white, grey. Thank again

I would assume that the crossover is build in the main unit, so you really need the main unit to run these speakers correctly. So pretty much you are out of luck with these speakers.

Seriously, I have no life.

Those speaker have no crossover. The head unit had two amps. The woofer was supplied by a 30 watt amp. There is a mod range unit and a piezo tweeter supplied by a 10 watt amp. The crossover is electronic in the head unit. The crossover and order is not specified. You can not use those speakers as a two wire units, and connect them to a conventional amplifier.
