Request advice on speaker placement

I have a pair of Revel Gems, a Revel Voice and 2 pr of Revel Performs S30s.

I know the latter should be placed on a wall; but we're moving - and the homes we're looking at aren't set up proper side and rear speaker installation.

Has anyone ever used these with stands? Which ones? How did they sound?

Sorry, never used or heard them but it seems that without the wall boundry support, their low-end may rise slightly on stands but should be about it.
