I have recent purchase NAD 757 to use with a Peachtree DACit. Music source is my different computer files. Is it best to use the Direct or stereo listening mode setting.

And I believe Pure Direct eliminates the subwoofer on some receivers...if thats an issue for you

Thanks, you are right in direct mode it does bypass the subwoofer.

Some people find the "enhancements" in Stereo mode pleasurable at lower volumes. As you turn up the volume, those enhancements are unnecessary, and Direct sounds cleaner and better. I am one of those people. And I've found that the better your speakers are, the less necessary those enhancements become.
