question for TLS Guy regarding crossovers

I was reading through this thread

I noticed you mentioned something about most speakers skimp out on the components used in making the crossovers.

I recently picked up POLK Monitor 70Series II floor standing speakers I wanted to ask if you think it would be a good idea to maybe rebuild the crossovers for them using better components, I would of course need your guidance along the way.

That would be pretty tough since I don't have the T/S parameters or the acoustic response of the drivers.

You could try replacing the existing components with ones of stricter tolerance, under the assumption the existing crossover component values are correct but the tolerances are not great as a cost savings measure.

You could also try doing that and rearranging the alignment and positioning of the components to something better, if they didn't put much effort into that.

I will open the speakers up and take out the crossover later this week, I will follow up with some pics.
