Question about Polk rc85i

I recently purchased 4 polk rc85i speakers for surround sound in my basement. For the center channel I ordered a polk 255c-rt. out of curiosity I emailed Polk to see if this setup would work and they emailed me back saying that the center channel won't sound good because the timbre won't match up? If that is the case what speaker do I buy for my center channel that will pair with the Polk rc85i in wall speakers?

Unless Polk can suggest another one, I'd say another rc85i will do the job quite well.

Fact : Black Bears are best :)
Another fact : inwall is worst possible way configuration especially for front speakers.
Fact 3) I'm not sure how much you have paid for your Polk speakers, but I do know that you got pretty bad value for it

As for your specific question : Polk specifically recommends (quite sensibly btw) to have identical rc85i for left, centrer and right front speakers and smaller rc65i for surround duty.

Hope you didn't buy Polk subwoofer
