Does it really make a difference to have a phone screen sized 6" which is well, 720p or 1080p?

The screen is so small. On a 40inch tv from a certain distance, we could probably see the difference, but a small 6" screen? What am i missing here?

It will depend on how close you hold it, and on your vision. With 20/20 vision, one can see the full detail of a 6" screęn of 720p at about 1.17 feet. With a 6" screęn of 1080p, it will be about 0.78 feet.

One might hold such a screęn that close, and some people have better vision than 20/20, so yes, it can make a difference that someone can see.

Many people try to judge the resolution needed just from the size of a screęn, and that is completely wrong. The distance one is from it is equally important, and one cannot calculate what is needed from just one of those parameters.
