Panasonic Ax200U, what's the competition?

Can anyone advise me as to the competition for the Panasonic Ax200u, specifically, projectors retailing for around $1,200 that will work well in "non-dedicated to theater" living room with modest ambient light during the day.

I've owned both the AX200 and the Epson Home Cinema 720 and I just had too many problems with the Panasonic and no problems with the Epson. The iris on the AX200 flickered constantly and the brightness would drop by about 20% randomly and correct itself. The Epson is every bit as good as the Panasonic, has none of the problems the AX200U has, and it comes with a free bulb. Can't beat that. There are ongoing threads about both of these projectors on AVS Forums so be sure to read them.

Well I think you can have a look at the Sony VPL-AW15 , looks nice and I have noticed that the price for them is quite good, only $1025 with a deal. And you can see some pictures here from that projector.
