What is considered to be the best full range i.e. non-digital stereo receiver ever?
And the follow up is of course why?

That would be my Lafayette A300. It had an AM/FM stereo, cassette and 8-Track player/recorders and a built in Turntable that played LPs, 45s, and 78s. Amazing machine. It even had pre attached speakers so there were no set up problems. What a machine, they don't make them like that any more.

Just joking.

This is a very loaded question, trying to start a riot?

I was told that you can go to a hock shop and find old receivers that are better than 99 9/10 of the new equipment out there. The problem is I do not know what brands and models. Thus, the question.
