I'm about halfway through the movie so far, but anyone who likes LFE/action should definitely give this a rental. As with most action loaded movies these days, the storyline is a little......shall we say weak, but I still think it is pretty entertaining. Gerard Butler is kicking a$$ and taking names even under an invasion of the Asians.

I didn't mind this movie although I am getting more and more dissapointed with Morgan Freemans choice of roles, it seems like his name is for sale, throw it on a movie poster just to get it up there... If he shot on this movie for more than a day I would be amazed.. The movie gets 3 stars from me, because I like how butler just kills at will, no soft tie them up and push them to the corner in this film, he is like "nope, Ill just stick my knife in your brain and move on"... I was half expecting a chik flik version of an action movie, but was surprised that was not the case, plenty of 50cal blowing through bodies on Pennsylvania avenue....

A waste of my time. I was glad when it ended.

I found OHF (Olympus) to be okay, it had a "Die Hard" feel to it, but overall it let me down. Strangely, I liked "White House Down" better, and based on the cast, I would have predicted to like Olympus Has Fallen better. White House Down got real stupid, but it knew it was being silly and cranked up the fun and laughs.

I watched it last night and if it wasn't for the video/audio eye candy thing happening, I would have been thoroughly disappointed in this film.

FYI, this is on Netflix now in HD and 5.1 in case anyone wanted to catch it on a lazy Sunday evening. I've started watching it, but I don't know if I'm going to finish it. Even I'm finding the plot absurd. I'm pretty forgiving on things...really forgiving most of the time. But, please,
an effing unidentified C-130 makes it all the way to Washington, D.C. before an escort goes to intercept it?! Right. And then two F-22s are along side of it, without either one behind it? Okay. Hey, not to worry, the Secret Service gets on the roof of the White House with SNIPER RIFLES to shoot it down on approach. Eeee.

Agreed, at least for this movie. The plot is pure crap, especially the part about pulling troops and the fleet over a hostage situation. The writers should have to do community service to make up for that twist. I can't believe Freeman needs the money bad enough to stick his name on this silly parody of a terrorist plot. F-, and I'm being kind.

I actually loved this movie! And man, the LFE was ridiculous -- during the big attack sequence on the White House the pillows on my couch were visibly shaking, which was something I've never experienced. Highly recommended!

That just goes to show that people can have very different priorities in movies. :)

That's the real trick..knowing when to leave the brain turned on or when to turn it off. I look at the premise of the story..this one was definately a mindless action flick and in that aspect, it delivered.

Definitely, plus the Bill Clinton Monument collapsing really gave the subs a workout, which was awesome. Lots of great sound effects during the entire movie.
