new vs used ascend acoustics

I'm finally ready to pull the trigger on some Ascend CMT-340's. I've got a large room to fill, so I think these will suit me better than Sierras. So as I'm preparing to order these, I see a 7year old used pair for half price
of a new pair.

Anyone feel like my choice is obvious?

I am not sure when Ascends switched from the 340 to the 340SE units but you might want to check before buying? The consensus IIRC said the SE version improved the overall sound vs. the first generation of 340's. I know several other Ascends owners visit this site and could chime in...maybe even Curtis could shed some light but from all accounts the 340s play loud and are often described as neural sounding & very accurate speakers.

They do not appear to be SE. On your advices , I'll go new.
