Looks like these will replace the BP7002 & down.

None of the preliminary specs seem equal to even the current BP7001SC:

Correct, ^^ as usual. The BP 7001 stays in the line as the flagship BP super towers.

I love the newly designed cabinets on the new BP super towers and their matching surrounds and center channel models. They are slimmer and much sleeker looking to match today's slim flat panel HDTVs.

Here's my take on some of the new advantages:

1. Def Tech engineers developed what they call Forward Focus Bipolar Array.

2. For the first time Def Tech engineers have integrated DSPs into the sub amps to improve base management.

3. Two new surrounds and three new center channel speakers that match the new chassis design and two of the new center channel speakers have built-in powered subs.

Delivery is scheduled for this fall.

From their website, it seems as if DefTech completely got rid of the BP7001SC; they don't even list the BP7001SC anymore.

As far as the new lineup, I just hope they sound at least as good as the previous lineup.

I'm sure they will sound as good or better than the previous lineup. I'm kinda surprised that they are only going with a single mid woofer in the rear of the new models. Can't wait to check them out, but I doubt I'll be replacing my current def techs any time soon.

AcuDefTechguy, I mentioned in the Deftech thread at AVS that it is a disapointment the way they are going.
