I'm trying to set up my direct TV hd box to my smart TV thru ethernet. The TV already has Internet via WiFi but want to explore the dish options as well. Any comments or answers welcome. Thanks

Dunno the answer to your question but I'm pretty dang sure that your PQ will be seriously degraded over using an HDMI cable. Your call.
