Along with its new lineup of power amplifiers, Marantz announced the AV7702mkII model preamp/processor capable of supporting Dolby Atmos, DTS:X and DTS Neural:X via a firmware update. The AV7702mkII also features upgrades such as HDMI 2.0a compatibility to support the pass-through of HDR content as well as 2.2 copy protections on all HDMI inputs and outputs and 32-bit DAC for all channels.

With 7.1.4 or 9.1.2 Dolby Atmos configurations this pre/pro should be ready to go for fully immersive surround sound.

I personally will not accept (upgrade) to anything less than a 9.2.4 Dolby Atmos setup. I'm quite happy with my current 11.2 setup and cannot fathom stepping backwards to a 7.1.4 setup.
