Monoprice In-Ceiling Speaker setting

Hey Audioholics,

I just purchased the 8" Kevlar In-ceiling speakers for home theater surrounds and I am currently redoing my basement. My question is they have a crossover setting of 0, -3, -6 db setting switch, which one do I use before I install the speakers cause the switch is on the inside/under the woofer so once they are installed you can't get at it. I will be driving them with a Yamaha RX-V3800 (140 w/ch.) for now and soon an Emotiva XPA-3.

Thanks!

If the switch has settings of 0, -3 dB, and -6 dB it is not a 'crossover'. It sounds like a treble cut switch. Some speakers offer that feature to reduce the highs if they sound too bright.

The only way to figure out which one sounds best is to try them using different sources but starting at '0' (no cut) will probably be fine.
