Hey John,

What program do you recommend running for Hi-Rez downloads into a MacBook. I'm just setting this up and would love input, as I am a total Mactard.

You can simply use VLC, it reads almost everything, and it's free!!
Otherwise, check Amarra. But IMO, it's just a way to make you pay.
Otherwise, if you like to keep a nice library, why not using iTunes? Unfortunately, it doesn't support FLAC, but does support Apple Los less ;-)

You could aslo want to use an external DAC. Some are really cheap, some are more expensive. Not sure if that makes a big difference either.

I have a Benchmark DAC pre that I'm running from the MacBook - do you have a link for VLC? I would like something also runs flac that would dovetail with itunes. I mean I already have itunes, so why not use it, right?

Thanks for the links! I use bootcamp to run winblows on my old macbook just for all the test software out there, but it is nice to see Mac native programs!
