Hi,

Not sure what this knob is for but it goes from (Starting at 7 oclock) 40hz to 4 oclock which is 150hz then at 5 oclock it says bypass..

With this I have two questions:

1. Can someone please explain the purpose fo this knob and what "Bypass" means..

2. What setting should it be set at.

Thanks in advance. :)

1) It is to adjust the frequency cutoff of the sound the sub plays. Bypass means there is no cutoff and it plays as high as the sub will go.
2) Depends on your setup. If using an AVR with bass management, it should be set at its highest setting or you should be using bypass. If you do not have bass management, you'll want an SPL meter and test tones to properly adjust this setting to blend with your system.

Thanks all for the replies.. learn something every time I post/read here..

I am not sure if my receiver has bass management. I use a Yamaha RX-V477. I see an "Extra Bass" setting but don't recall seeing anything saying "Bass Management". Is the"Extra Bass" the Bass management?
