Lowpass setting for sub?

My sub has a 40 to 120 Lowpass HZ range. Where should this typically be set? Right now I just have it set in the center of the range (80HZ).

If your receiver is handling the bass management, then you would want to have that crossover set as high as possible (120 Hz in this case). You don't want the sub to cut off any frequencies if your receiver is already taking care of that.

Thanks, I am pretty sure my receiver is handling that, so I will set the pass to 120HZ?

Yes. You don't want two crossovers set to similar frequencies working together. If the receiver only sends a signal to the sub that is below 80Hz, then setting the sub's crossover to 120Hz effectively eliminates it from the signal path, which is what you want.
