KG5.5 rebuild and modification questions

I have a pair of Klipsch KG5.5 speakers that I am looking to rebuild in the near future. During this rebuild I would like to address the perceived lack of mid range response. Any suggestions regarding cabinet design and adding an additional speaker to address this need would be appreciated. My experience is limited therefore I am asking for advice. Thank you.

Currently being tested with a RX V990 tuner.

Agreed. Unless you're going to measure the before and after and have the ability to tweak the x-over via trial and error and measurements, you're better off with a different speaker, unless the goal is to learn how to do this sort of thing.

Bob Crites (critesspeakers.com) and Dean whatshisname (aletheaaudio.com) are pretty steeped in vintage Klipsch rehab/mods. A new kit as others suggest is a good option, perhaps one of the SEOS types (diysoundgroup.com) to keep it horny.
