How big? How much you willing to spend? White, with a 1.0-1.3 gain would be preferred. If you're looking for something inexpensive, take a look here: http://www.htdepot.com/

i mounting it tonight, then i will determine how big i can go. Of course i want the biggest screen possible but have limited space (about 12.5 ft to wall). And i am on a budget right now, trying to keep the pregnant wife happy! U like the focupix best on a budget?? Thanks

I don't know anything about focupix, but one of the best out therehttp://http://www.seymourav.com/ is only a few hundred dollars for the material alone, if you can make your own frame. There are tips and links onsite to help you do this. With such a narrow room you can get a much wider screen with their XD material and place the speakers behind it.
The XD material is what is called "AT" - Audio transparent.

My room is 12' wide also and i'm going with a 110" diagonal. I can place my primary seat 13' away though. If you must sit closer, you should probably go smaller.
Check out the calculator at projectorcentral.com http://http://www.projectorcentral.com/Optoma-HD20-projection-calculator-pro.htm

Sorry, my mistake - link errors - see below

What is the 12.5' related to; lens distance, room length/width, seating distance? You also need to take heights into account since the Optoma requires some screen offset and you don't want the center channel too close to the floor: http://optomausa.com/screen_size_cal/cal_screen_size.asp?model=HD20

Making some assumptions, you're probably looking at about 100"-105" dia. Be careful with sizing on the Focupix, because the sizing includes the frame not just screen area. Projecting onto the wall first is the best way to properly size the screen.

If you aren't up for making your own screen then Focupix makes a pretty nice product for the money. I don't love them, but at that price, I do. (hope that makes sense)

At any price, in fixed screens, Carada is one of my favorites. Their Criterion screens in Brilliant White are by far my favorite screen on the market. Their frame build quality is outstanding, and their product just works nicely every time.

Building your own screen with good material, such as the Seymour screen is also a good way to go, but I rarely see DIY screens which are built to a very high standard, and if you ever need to move it, you will be in trouble.

Diff. dont want to built my own, but my plan is to mount my projector to the ceiling(prob tonight) and from there fiquire out the screen size. One of my biggest concerns was, what color screen to use in my basement.
