This is a very basic guide on how to calibrate a new HDTV display. We offer a step by step procedure on how to take the display out of torch mode and how to disable many of the auto features that cause deleterious effects on picture quality. We also show you how to properly set black level to ensure the best picture quality.

Be sure to also check out our YouTube Instructional Video on how to Calibrate an HDTV Display using the Spears & Munsil Blu-ray.

See here as well - http://www.audioholics.com/home-theater-calibration/hdtv-calibration , and check mr sarnoff's reply. You can easily grab the free AVS709 mp4 files and place them on a thumb drive to display directly on usb equipped TV's. If you don't have usb, then use one of the other file versions and burn a DVD or Blu-Ray.

To do the color and tint adjustments you will need a blue filter. If your TV supports a blue only mode, you can use that for the blue filter, or you can buy a blue filter from THX (blue glasses), get the Lee blue filter refenced below, or use one of the other blue filter android apps that some folks have used.

THX glasses - https://thxcompanystore.fontisbrandcenter.com/mrc?ctgy=20796 , not sure if there is an additional shipping charge.

Also, the correct blue filter is apparently Lee Tokyo Blue #071, and you can find this filter at Adorama, Amazon, etc.
