hooking up outdoor speakers

I need some guidance on basic hookup requirements for outdoor speakers. We have a regular stereo system with receiver, CD player, AM/FM tuner components. We want to hook up one pair of Yamaha 130 W outdoor speakers, with the ability to turn them on and off. We'd like the option to later add a pair to the front porch. Can we simply use a 4 zone speaker selector, or do we have to have dual zone receiver?

If you want to use all your existing gear and you don't care if you are listening to the same source with all zones then you can just use a speaker selector like this one: http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=300-974

This has circuits to protect your receiver and will also allow you to add speakers to the front porch later.
